Rather than erase the home’s original character, we preserved one of its most compelling architectural ideas: the L-shaped footprint wrapping around the backyard and pool. From there, the home was completely reimagined for modern family life. Ceilings were raised, walls were removed, and the interior layout was opened to create a greater sense of volume, light, and connection. New bedrooms were thoughtfully incorporated where the footprint allowed, creating space for a larger family without losing the ease and simplicity that guided the design.

With an oversized property and Florida’s year-round climate, indoor-outdoor living became central to the project. The home opens toward the pool and landscape, extending everyday living beyond the interior walls. A new cabana and pergola create dedicated spaces for gathering, dining, and relaxing outdoors, while the architecture and landscape work together to make the backyard feel like a natural extension of the home.

Inside, Scandinavian design influenced the lighting, cabinetry, and emphasis on clean, functional forms. The Japandi philosophy shaped the quieter elements of the home: a restrained palette, natural materials, warm wood tones, soft textures, and an intentional absence of excess. Every space was designed to feel calm rather than decorated.

The result is a home that feels both elevated and effortless—a spa-like retreat designed around light, nature, family, and the beauty of simple living.
